Austrian TV presenter faces hate campaign

April 30, 2019

Award-winning Austrian television presenter Armin Wolf faces a wave of hate speech from politicians in the FPÖ party, the right-wing junior partner in the government coalition. It follows his tough questions in a TV interview with FPÖ MEP Harald Vilimsky, the party’s General Secretary. Wolf criticised the party for ‘openly promoting racism’. Armin Wolf has been an anchor on the main news Zeit im Bild at the Austrian public broadcaster ORF since 2002. Since 2010 he has also been the deputy news editor. In 2018 he was awarded the prize of Austrian Journalist of the Year.
